Variances

The development standards within KGBC Title 18 are designed to protect the public health, safety, and welfare by establishing setbacks, maximum building heights, and other development standards that apply to various uses. Variances may be granted for land or development with unique characteristics and provided that the intent and purpose of the development standards are maintained.

Application Requirements
A variance is a request to vary a quantifiable standard (variances of 10 percent or less may be eligible for the minor variance process as established in KGBC 18.150.020). An application for a variance must be submitted by the owner of the affected property or their authorized agent, the Owner Authorization Signature Page must accompany the variance application.
