Paratransit is a service offered by Transit, providing door-to-door transportation for customers who are unable to use the fixed route service. Priority is given to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) eligible customers. The service is also available for seniors (persons age 60 and over) and eligible children, when accompanied by an adult.
Please note that all buses, not just paratransit vehicles, are wheelchair accessible. Since paratransit services are in high demand, individuals are strongly encouraged to use the regular fixed route bus service whenever possible.
People qualifying on the basis of their disability must provide an ADA card. An eligibility application for an ADA card can be obtained from the link below, or by calling Transit at 907-225-TRAN (8726) or the Ketchikan Senior Center at 907-225-6575.
Visitors to Ketchikan may also qualify for ADA Paratransit service. For more information about this service please contact transit@kgbak.us or call Transit at 907-225-8726.
